Built for the 1889 World's Fair, the original tower's open iron lattice and four arched legs became one of Paris's most recognisable silhouettes. It is both a landmark that visitors can ascend and a platform for broadcasting. A digital radio antenna installed in 2022 brought its total height to 330 metres. Replicas around the world carry this form into their own local stories.
